Zev O'Brien established ZOB Design in 2020 to carry forward his passion for design and improve the spaces we live in. With over seven years experience in custom home construction, and nine years working in locally, nationally, and internationally recognized architecture firms, Zev channels his range of experiences to help his clients explore spaces and ideas, and places and concepts that eventually become ‘home’. With a broad appreciation for design, involvement in construction management, and extensive hands-on experience with home construction, Zev brings an energetic perspective to all his projects with his client’s best interests in mind.
Zev did a fantastic job with the design for our renovation. He was able to maximize the existing space, and made the house much more functional and homie. We were able to add a master suite, open up the kitchen to the living room, and vaulted the living room ceiling to make it feel larger inside. I hired Zev to conceptualize and design an entry level guest suite. We were constricted by available space and parameters within my home, so we had to be clever and intentional with the layout. Zev used his expertise to develop a high-functioning space that maximized the footprint we had to work with, was conscious to minimize the associated costs of specific design decisions, and completely transformed how I utilize my ground floor. He was active in keeping the project moving by communicating with the builders, going to bat for my best interests, and facilitating an effective project team. Zev designed a main level remodel with bi-folding doors that led to a back patio to take advantage of our mountain views. This included major structural changes where he had to consult with and collaborate with the engineers and contractors. This being our first big project we weren't sure how to navigate the process but Zev did a great job at communicating with the contractors to get us the information we needed to make the right decisions. He was always available for us, great to work, and had original ideas with attention to detail at very competitive pricing.

After the initial visit he gave us a very detailed proposal and walked us through the process again and answered any questions we had. Unfortunately, we are holding off on the project for now but it was great to have the expertise of Zev to help us walk through the process and help point us in the right direction. Would definitely recommend working with Zev on your remodeling and design needs.
